We utilize the latest instruments and technologies to help us diagnose your precise vision.

thorough diagnostics

During pre-testing and throughout the exam we may ask questions that help determine your prescription.

The Optos Retinal Image Scanner creates digital images of the eye called Optomaps. These images are taken in seconds and typically without eye drops or dilation of the pupil that are used in traditional retinal exams.

This scanner helps our optometrists peer into 220 degrees of the retina to diagnose eye diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy.

This imaging system is included with most  comprehensive exams for everyone over the age of 19 years.

Who can get an eye exam?

Babies & Children

The Canadian Association of Optometrists recommends babies to have their eyes examined for the first time between 6-9 months of age. It is then advisable to have their eyes examined again before they attend school and every two years going forward.

Adults

Eye examinations are an important part of overall health maintenance. Getting eyes examined every two years helps ensure your vision is crisp longer. For those with diabetes it is recommended to have eyes examined yearly.

Seniors

Most eye diseases can be detected early. To help prevent any accidents related vision loss, eye exams are recommended annually for seniors with no pre-existing health conditions.
